The Bee Garden was started when the bee population seemed to be under threat. There are in fact quite a few species of bees in the garden including that famous one which is large and black. the Honey bees seem to enjoy my old trees nesting in the hollow bases for a season or two.
The pictures show the garden being excavated and concreted with a final mosaic of coloured pebbles to represent the Bee. The mosaic area acts as a path while creating areas for plants. The planting  is designed to provided an abundance of nectar throughout the year, crab-apple, nepeta, lavender, catoneaster to mention a few.
