PIcture 2 shows as it was 1998 the view to the white bridge from the Catalpa can hardly be recognised, with no borders, no mound, and trees that nolonger exist. Picture 3 shows the back of the house in 1998. A willow dominated the area near to the house with rather a small terrace which I later turned into a vista leading to the pleached limes and the kitchen garden.
Some of the early views are fascinating.  A number of trees and paths have been added along with a line of yew, a monkey puzzle tree and a vaiety of other trees. Of note is the old box tree allowed to grow naturally for at least a century. The box hedge beyond once marked the boundary of the chateaux and the working farm and is now cut in cloudy shapes.
